The past year has made one thing impossible to ignore.
The world is not just changing quickly; it is changing relentlessly.

Investment in human-centred AI reached eye-watering levels. New models, tools and agents appeared weekly, sometimes daily. Agentic systems moved from suggestion to decision. Salesforce pushed forward with rapid no-code, low-code and agentic advances, forcing organisations to rethink how they plan for change.”

And yet, beneath the excitement, a quieter and more uncomfortable question emerged in boardrooms everywhere:

Is all this AI actually improving productivity across the workforce, or are we simply getting faster at individual tasks while the overall operating model stays the same?

This tension sits at the heart of why DataColada exists.

Years ago, long before AI dominated the headlines, I sat in a small boardroom watching a non-profit team work late into the night. Their passion was undeniable. Their mission mattered deeply. But their tools were working against them. Spreadsheets everywhere. Manual reporting. Disconnected systems. Progress measured in exhaustion rather than outcomes.

That moment sparked DataColada and shaped a belief that has only grown stronger with time:

Purpose-driven organisations rarely struggle because their mission is too big; they struggle because their systems are too small.

From day one, we built on Salesforce because it offered a scalable, human-centred platform for data and operations. We partnered with Stripe because money flow is not a back-office detail; it is mission-critical infrastructure. Together, they reinforced a truth that now applies to every organisation, regardless of sector:

Every business is a technology business, and every business is a finance business.

How well you manage data, automation and payments directly determines how effectively you can serve.

When the pace of change outstrips certainty: Adopting Human-Centred AI

In 2025, the conversation shifted. It was no longer about whether to adopt AI, but how to do so responsibly, sustainably and without overwhelming people.

Leaders began asking questions they rarely voice publicly:

  • If technology is moving this fast, how do we bring our people with us rather than leaving them behind?
  • How do we modernise when the goalposts move every week and the hype arrives well before the benefits?
  • Are we actually falling behind, or are we simply measuring the wrong things?

At DataColada, these questions reshaped how we serve customers.

We learned that progress does not come from forcing change, but from nudging teams beyond familiar routines so they can reimagine how work could be done. Not recklessly. Not overnight. But deliberately, with respect for how people learn and adapt.

We also saw that uncertainty, when treated as a design constraint rather than a threat, becomes a powerful catalyst. It invites organisations to redesign what “good work” looks like in a world where automation is abundant but attention, trust and empathy are not.

Solving the AI Productivity Paradox: When systems finally match the mission

This year, the most meaningful successes were not flashy. They were quietly transformative.

Carers Australia is a perfect example. Faced with a national bursary program under growing strain, uncertainty forced a rethink. Manual processes were no longer viable. With the Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud Grantmaking platform, the entire operating model shifted.

As Helen Roben put it:

“Last year we were flat out assessing and awarding 1,700 bursaries; our new NPC Grantmaking platform allowed us to award and pay all successful applicants before Christmas.”

That is not hype. That is capacity unlocked with good technology, delivered right and at speed.

Across non-profits, education providers and healthcare organisations, we saw the same pattern repeat. When systems became clearer, teams became calmer. When automation removed friction, people had more time for judgement, care and creativity. Productivity gains were no longer isolated to tasks; they showed up in confidence, consistency and service quality. Add AI agents to these core CRM systems and the gains are even greater.

Enterprise foundations first: Building trust with Salesforce and Stripe

We deliberately doubled down on the work that has to be boringly reliable, because it sits in the blast radius of trust.

Payments. Subscriptions. Receipts. Reconciliation. Audit trails. Customer experience. The ability to run the mission without financial friction.

Built on Salesforce as the system of record and Stripe as the payments engine, we strengthened the foundations that let customers operate like modern organisations, not heroic spreadsheets.

This is where DC Payments, DC Subscriptions, DC Tap to Pay and DC Agent Pay matter. They bring secure, real-time financial flows into Salesforce, natively and across clouds, so revenue is not an afterthought; it is part of the operating model.

In a world where every organisation is a technology business and a finance business, this is no longer optional. It is table stakes.

AI experimentation, vibe coding and the real breakthrough

In parallel, we ran a very deliberate experiment.

We leaned hard into AI and vibe coding, not to create flashy demos, but to learn how to build production-ready AI products at speed. We shipped early. We iterated. We hardened. We tightened security. We improved UX. We released again. And again.

Here is the honest truth.

The products themselves still have work to do to earn greater market traction. That is normal. That was never the real win.

The real success this year was learning how to deliver high-quality, production-ready AI products with a faster release cadence, without compromising trust or reliability.

We learned how to build with AI at the heart of the delivery process, not just as a feature inside the product. We proved we can move from idea to working software quickly, then keep showing up with meaningful improvements until it is genuinely useful.

That is why YouGenius.ai, CommunityVideos.ai, and what comes next for impact measurement matter; not because they are finished, but because they represent a repeatable product capability inside DataColada, and early next year we will channel that into a new impact app that should make measurement feel less like reporting, and more like storytelling with evidence.

The experiment has started, and we intend to keep going; shipping more often, learning faster and showcasing increasingly interesting applications that fill real gaps in industry value chains.

Looking ahead

The next chapter will not reward organisations that wait for certainty. It will reward those who let AI challenge old assumptions, run thoughtful experiments, and redesign how work happens so productivity improves across the whole workforce, not just a list of tasks.

At DataColada, our mission remains steady.

  • We help organisations adopt fast-changing technology at a human pace.
  • We help them turn uncertainty into insight, using data, rapid iteration and honest feedback loops.
  • We help them build systems where AI and people work in unison, lifting capacity, improving decisions and freeing humans to do the work only humans can do.

Because the future will not be shaped by the fastest tools alone.
It will be shaped by those who combine innovation with empathy, ambition with restraint, and technology with humanity.

And that, I believe, is a future worth building.
